Hey there! I am Leslie and if you explore here a bit, you will discover I am an artist who helps people struggling to deeply connect in our disconnected world reconnect in meaningful ways.
What you may not know about me is I struggled growing up with relationships. Not simply the romantic ones, any of them. I was so shy and awkward and lonely as a kid and teenager, I would collect coins (yes, you could buy things with coins in those days), head to the local variety store, and buy stickers, pencils, fun erasers…things I could give to other kids in my attempt to connect and make friends.
At 18, I left the only neighborhood I’d know for college and things started to shift a bit when it came to connecting. Yet it wasn’t until I my 21st birthday when traveled to Europe on my own for 6 months that my ability to connect and make friends truly changed. I discovered a new sense of self and a freedom, making friends from all over the world. Those relationships were precious and I desired a meaningful way to stay connected.
The artist in me loves to share beautiful and handmade things, so I started making my own photocards. I still love to give things, though It’s no longer to make friends. Instead it’s a desire to stay connected in heartfelt and meaningful ways.
They were a hit. They were unique and memorable, often of shared interests or travels. Friends shared they love them and would often frame them or pin them up. That not only kept us connected, it brought art and beauty into their space.
A decade later, cameras were cheap and photocards were everywhere…no longer something unique or special. I mostly stopped creating them and, sadly, sometimes lost touch with people.
Another time of travel followed, living in multiple states and countries. On returning to the states, I learned that it is possible to stay in touch in memorable ways beyond texts and social media memes, no matter the distance. When we are touched, we all have a deeply ingrained desire to keep the connection spark alive in meaningfully ways especially in today’s fast-paced, disconnected world, yet don’t always know how.
This is why I create one-of-a-kind, small original art that fits in a standard size frame. Not only is it beautiful art, there is space for you to add your unique message that, when framed, creates an on-going connection of love, support or congratulations with those special someones in your life.
Too many of us struggle to connect in a heartfelt, meaningful, and lasting way in today’s fast-paced, disconnected digital world. I help you powerfully reconnect with yourself and others through one-of-a-kind small works of art that say, “I see you, I support you, and I love you” in a memorable and lasting way.
